My research process for turning Life of Pi into a blog presentation consisted of first finding what I thought to be the most crucial themes of the book. For one thing, it important to me that the main character had very much a writer’s sensibility. The title of my blog is a quote from Pi, who would describe some true stories as being made of “dry, yeastless factuality.” This was, in a sense, my emblem for understanding the story.

Ultimately, my opinion of the blog process is that it can be a great tool to contribute to on a daily basis, but if that’s not how the user uses it, it’s not much better than a cross between email and writing papers. As I mentioned in class, a website method (though more complicated) would allow for more creativity in terms of structure and content.

Finally: one more emblematic image to sum up my experience with the book. Below is a collage I assembled of various covers made for different editions of the novel. It's interesting to see the wide variety of what elements are emphasized, and that of the different tones used (both emotional and color-related tones).
